Bath 2005

The long awaited and eagerly anticipated jolly to pastures south of Birmingham finally took place last weekend when the club partied at a lovely site near Bath.

Naz, Joan and I arrived on the Friday and camped down at Ian's house after allowing Ian to murder everything ever done by Tom Jones as well as drinking all his beer. Forty odd bottles I believe plus whatever wine was around!! However, he did bang together a damn fine stir fry which made up for the cat- strangling noise!

Naz whistled his way to Chippenham taking the best part of 7 hours while I bounced down the Fosseway on spongy forks, boinging all the way in 2 hours. Ouch!

Whatever sick saugages Rick had, were soon quaffed by this cancerous looking bear-dog that was hanging around...bless him

We loaded Suzanne's car with tents and beer before hitting a fab little canal-side cafe in Bradford-on-Avon for brekkie before riding out to the site. Tents, gazeebo and fire were sorted before the others rolled in. Clive arrived shortly afterwards on a right weird looking device (I love it) and Rick, Dave and Matt turned up a bit later...knackered. Top marks to Dave for collecting the longest journey trophy...if there was one :)

So that was us camped....all by ourselves until 10 or so 15 - 16 year old girls turned up to celebrate a birthday!!! Whatever sick thoughts we had was soon squashed by Joan...bless her.

Whatever sick saugages Rick had were soon quaffed by this cancerous looking bear dog that was hanging around (see the pics)...bless him :)

Rick may have gone hungry but Ian supplied a hundred weight of chilli and baked spuds for us normal eaters...including a load for the teenagers. Not only did we feed the bitches (sic) but we warped their minds with repetitive playing of Tenacious D :-)

Cracking little site with a bloke called Goat who seems to be semi-resident in his yurt which was quite a splendid piece of urban engineering...comfy as hell and toastie-warm. I liked the fact that he was growing herby plants on Jane Seymore's land just down the road. Nice!

We decided on a bit of M5 bashing for the journey home which hammered hours off our travel time....all in all a cracking weekend...big thanks to Team Fox.

Back to Bath soon I hope.

Andy
